Best advice: Make Bagelsmith your last stop and grab some bagels before entering the L train station on your way back to Manhattan. Chances are good this will likely be the only bagel shop open all hours of the night. One thing I miss about no longer living in NYC or visiting there less frequently these days are the bagel shops, especially Bagelsmith...because it was kind of a rare treat given its location in Williamsburg. I never came here expecting the same quality as H&H, for example, but being an everything bagel kind of person, I always found their bagels to be good. In my opinion, the service here has always been good, and that is one of the reasons I kept returning.

I got the everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and was very happy! The bagels are large and extremely filling. There are several options to choose from

This place is definitely popular and I see why! I got a whole wheat everything bagel with omelette and avocado and it was delicious! There's only a few seats inside so you have to come early if you want to get a seat. They also have a wide selection of cold drinks and barbells protein bars.

Bagelsmith has come a long long way from its early days back in the late 'aughts when The Bagel Shop was the mainstay on the Northside (does anyone say "the Northside" anymore?). I remember thinking I'd only come here if the line at the other place was out the door on a weekend morning, because the Bagel Shop had better bagels with more seeds and more non dairy CC options. The other evening, I was fiending for a bagel and popped in here for an everything pumpernickel with olive tofu CC. The guy working behind the counter had to be one of the friendliest people I've ever encountered in Williamsburg! Like so friendly, I'd want to hang out in the store and chat with him and I never want to hang around in stores and chat with strangers. My bagel was perfect, with just the right amount of everything and just the right amount of CC. I did the New York thing that I don't do anywhere else and took a stroll on the cold streets feeding my face and window shopping. It was good.
